I am just confused whether love lasts long or not.I recently read from a survey that love at the most time lasts only for 3 years. But i want some serious thoughts.Answers from people who have been married(with their love or not) will be most appreciated.
ten points for sure!!
How long have been you in love?
There are many different kinds of love but the love that you have with a spouse or partner is truly one of a kind. I love my husband more today than I did the day I married him (and I didn't think that was possible then) but a lot of people think that love has to be that head over heels, fresh into a relationship, exciting love rather than the deep emotional bond that comes after years of being with someone.
I think love/marriage is like a garden - you plant lots of beautiful flowers in it and it looks great for that first summer, then when fall comes you are kind of getting tired of it so you don't take as much care in preparing it for winter. Next summer comes and you head out to the garden but its work and you end up losing interest, soon weeds start to grow in your garden and if you don't take care of it soon you will have nothing but weeds. But some people tend their gardens, no matter how much work because they treasure it.
You have to find that kind of love..,. and you have to be willing to work at it!!! If love and marriage was easy there would never be divorce
Reply:I am married, have been for almost 2 years, and we've been together for almost 6. We fell in love after only a couple of months, so you might say we've been in love the whole time we've been together. People who say love only lasts for 3 years obviously haven't found the right person to love for their whole life.
Reply:no limit.
Reply:well, my husband and I have been married for 11 years but together for 14. there is tons and tons of love on both sides. I will not lie and say that there hasn't been times when we would get into a fight or something and i won't lie and say that he didn't have an affair and that I didn't have one as well. there has been good times and bad times, but with the love that is in our hearts we have been able to work thru them all and are still very much in love with each other. I wouldn't want it any other way.
Reply:Love is gay. Spend time on Kung-Fu and fighting.
Reply:I have been in love as long as I can remember. I think love is a feeling we learn by habit, and we like to have the feeling all the time. We are in love with someone, or something, on some level, all of the time.
Reply:Those surveys are useless. So many people take "love" lightly and dont know what love truly is. I see so many people that date and then a certain amount of time goes by, so they think its time to say "i love you". Thats a bunch of BS. Love is often confused with need or want, etc. Anyways, to answer your question, I have been with my husband 3 1/2 yrs and married for 1 1/2 and still going strong as ever. :)
Reply:been with hubby about 3.5 years. He irritates me these days, and i dont doubt that i irritate him too lol. But i still love him as much as i did when we first met.
Reply:married 6 years this past saturday and we have been together for 8 years in october
Reply:Awwwww don't look so sad...smile :)
Love will come and go. It's the way of life. Until u meet that one true love.
I was w/ my husband for 13yrs, he cheated, realized just a couple months ago I did not love him like I should have. Found someone I did actually love, he's now gone. So whatever!
I believe it will last if the 2 people in love WANT it to last.
Reply:I love my wife, and have loved her for 11+ years. at 3years a pair is only getting thier feet wet, in my opinion. must be a statistic from someone that isnt very good at relationships is all i can guess.
Reply:love can last a lifetime
Reply:Been with my (now) hubby since 1993, so that's 15 years and still going strong...
Is it the same feeling as we had when we were first dating? Of course not. But love - like anything - matures and changes and settles into something deeper.
Reply:I have been inlove with my husband for 4 years now so I guess we broke the 3 year deal you are talking about.
Reply:love comes and goes and in some rare cases dies at certain times in someones' life a person might fall madly in love as time passes this love might not burn as brightly as it did before and this is what pushes some people to cheat they cheat to experience the rush they did before but sensible people look for ways to reignite the old flame....what you read cannot be applied to real life it is after all statistics
Reply:I fell in love with my husband when I met him in '95, I am still in love with him. We have been through heart ache, loss, kids issues, ex issues, and we know what it means to struggle, but I always love him and it's easy to find a reason to "fall in love" with him all over again. :)
P.S. - the Lust can last too! Together 12 years and neither of us have lost interest in that department! ;)
Reply:Lust lasts about 3 years
don't confuse the two
real love can last a life time, Marriage involves falling in love many times throughout your life.....always with the same person.
