Reply:I once had a student tell me that she loved my class, not because she loved math, but because I loved it so much, and it rubbed off on the class. I think there is an answer to your question in there.
Other ideas:
Be dramatic - or even melodramatic! Act out concepts with very exaggerated actions. Example: The associative property relates to your momma saying, "I don't want you to associate with that person." So, you get 3 kids, have one stand to the side while 2 hang out together - associate - then come say to one, you can't associate with him/her any more, regroup, go hang out with the other guy. Lots of stuff can be acted out like this.
Lots of hand signals attached to various procedures.
Lots of movement - don't spend the whole class with students sitting down.
Extended projects using real, hands on situations. Group work.
Rewrite the application problems using teachers' names, local businesses, the school's sports program, etc. Be careful about how you use students' names -- use them only where no one will be embarrassed -- but making fun of yourself is good.
Laugh a lot! It's infectious.

2) give hints to major problems that are in the homework so when they get home they will remember how to do it.
3) make math fun for them. create games for them that will still get the point accross. for example i taught a lesson on theoretical probability vs experimental probability. i used PI yes 3.14 to demonstrate ratio's it is ratio of 22:7
4) when students are asnwering questions in class and they get stuck i give them a chance to ask a friend to explain to them so they can explain it to me. they learn fast to give you the right answer. it also saves embarrassment in front of others.
5 )have a session with your students if you already didn't about math anxiety and how they got it. educate them on this and have a class discussion. you will be amazed on how the kids learn about this subject. and i guarentee that you will have many students that struggle with math anxiety.

The relationship between waiting to get married and the divorce rate in this country. Do you think that divorce has increased because people are waiting longer to get married, and they feel pressure to get married, so they marry the first mate that comes along? People today marry for the wrong reasons. Ask the question Would you marry for love and be pennyless or be rich and dislike your mate. You might be surprised at the answers.

I would love to do surveys online. I'm in Canada. I have tried to make money doing surveys online in the past, but all of the websites I went to, wanted me to send money as a start up fee for becoming a member. Other websites I tried, spammed the heck out of me once I entered my e mail address. I tried other survey sites which just brought me to another page with loads of other websites to click on that were apparently survey sites but nothing panned out. Please help! I think I would...but then I stop and second guess myself.
People say on a regular basis you should never hate anyone, because the emotion is so strong.
Love is an equally strong emotion, and people get absolutely CRUSHED by love everyday, but yet it is encouraged. Now, don't take this the wrong way, as I believe love is incredible, and we need to have it.
What are you thoughts??

I believe everyone carries their own idea of what "LOVE" should be as they do with the word "HATE".
It's all semantics....
Polite society refers to both words as a reference of a feeling a certain way about something or someone.
Could you imagine hearing your mother say to your pop "Honey, I simply lust you!"....lol
Which is another point. People use the wrong words to describe their feelings for another and a lot of relationships suffer in the end.
There is a huge difference between lets say "LUST" and "Love". If more people could have been up front or had even known what lust had meant to begin with, the divorce rates would not be so high.
Both words are used to keep everyone on the same page when defining or communicating a feeling from one person to another. To me - there are no words to describe "Love" and "hate" adequately.

However, I do not believe the same as love; i believe love is a necessity. And as you duly pointed out, sometimes being crushed by love hurts more than being hated.

I think you know you're in love when you have an understanding of what love is, through experience, and as it is happening. This doesn't mean the same thing for everyone because no two people are the same. My understanding of what love is... When you consciously and willingly put someone else's wants or needs above your own, and are perfectly content with that situation. When you feel like that is how it should be. I know I'd do anything for my man, and not ever feel a regret about it because that is just the way I want it. Hope I answered your question!

I think there is no good love without hate and there is no good hate without love therefore they two are the two sides of same coin and as head and tail mingle together to make a valuable coin love and hate mingle together to make a strong relation.

I'm not so sure, Mr. Dragon. If there was a reality where there were no families, would the human emotion, love have ever presented itself? We would have likely never taken up such invisible factions and bound together for a reason, which I find, not entirely reasonable.

Sadly money helps the relationship alot because it allows you to spend more time together and you don't have to worry about bills, but at the same time you can't be greedy and know how to stay grounded so you won't get so full of yourself.
Reply:Honestly, you need both to make a marriage work. I don't see that you can get by with one, but not the other. Now, a relationship doesn't necessarily require money, but you are implying a romantic relationship here, I think.
Of the two, love is more important, but again, you need both.

Never be hurt. What good to yourself are you if you're hurting? How does that look to other people around you? I like the dating and the passion when its real, but that takes so much effort and is hard to come by to make it overwhelmingly desirable. If you're not in love then at least you're pretty level-headed and not affected by how it can modify behaviors. Just going on bad dates is disappointing enough, take that and multiply it by how much you actually care about somebody and the potential they have to hurt you. I'd rather be grouchy and level headed than broken hearted and depressed.
Reply:love for sure. Never being hurt is boring, can you imagine going out with someone who you know won't hurt you but you don't feel anything for them. Its f... boring, and weirdat least if you love someone and you are being hurt, you can fight for what you love, the rewards are so much bigger,l Even bigger than loosing that someone that you love.

But then he came back and said that was a stupid mistake and he loves me more than anything and longs to hold me in his arms again... God I love him!
